UW-Madison engineers receive $4.6M in DOE nuclear research awards
The U.S. Department of Energy recently awarded more than $41.2 million through its Nuclear Energy University Program (NEUP) to support university-led nuclear energy research and development projects, including a total of $4.6 million for projects led by University of Wisconsin-Madison engineers.
Wilson named Fellow of ANS
Paul Wilson, Grainger Professor of Nuclear Engineering and chair of the Department of Nuclear Engineering and Engineering Physics at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, has been elected as a Fellow of the American Nuclear Society (ANS). Fellow is the organization’s highest membership status to which only a small group of nuclear science and engineering professionals are elected.
Sridharan Named Grainger STAR Professor by UW- College of Engineering
Kumar Sridharan has been named Grainger STAR Professor by the University of Wisconsin, Madison, College of Engineering. Sridharan the engineering physics and materials science and engineering professors expertise focuses on nuclear reactor materials, corrosion in reactor-relevant environments, radiation effects in materials, surface modification and coating technologies, physical metallurgy, advanced materials characterization and testing, and intersections of materials science and manufacturing.
